Giridhara R. Babu, MBBS, MPH, PhD, is currently serving as a Professor of Population Medicine at the College of Medicine, Qatar University. He is also a Visiting Professor at Maastricht University, Netherlands, and the Public Health Foundation of India. With a career spanning over two decades, GRB has led transformative public health research across epidemiology, disease prevention, and health security. His extensive work on infectious diseases, including polio eradication and COVID-19, and his commitment to advancing health systems’ resilience have earned him recognition as a leader in global health.
He holds a PhD and a Master of Public Health from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), and an MBBS from Kasturba Medical College, Manipal, India. His research, which has shaped public health responses globally, focused on maternal and child health, non-communicable diseases, and health policy.
